"I am disturbed by the reports by various new agencies, particularly Al-Jazeera, that the CIA has entered negotiations with the Sinaloa Cartel. The United States does not negotiate with terrorists. The CIA is 100% loyal to the United States and her goals and has not negotiated with the Sinaloa Cartel, nor is connected to any of the cartels operating in Mexico. These accusations are unfounded and it is irresponsible of Al-Jazeera to report as news. Furthermore, El Menchito is not the leader of the Sinaloa faction, but rather the leader of the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion. The United States would like to reiterate her commitment to regional security."
