MEXICO CITY -- It is a day of mourning in Mexico City today as Federal Police begin investigations on the death of Paulina, age 11, the eldest child and daughter of Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto. President Nieto stated, “I never thought that such a tragedy could befall such an innocent”.
Investigators are still unable to determine the identity of the perpetrator, but they have been able to determine that the child was not the initial target. The Federal Police are certain that this was a failed assassination attempt on President Nieto.
