"The United States is deeply concerned from the escalation of drug cartel violence as it affects American citizens, particularly in the border towns of San Diego and Tijuana. All American citizens are requested to return to the United States immediately and travel plans to Mexico should be cancelled. The border crossing between San Diego and Tijuana has been closed indefinitely and other crossings may be closed in the future. All US citizens in Tijuana and Baja California are urged to check-in with the American consulate"
